Whoo hoo! We made it to February!
As you know, we didn’t get to our math quiz this week, so we will plan that for Tuesday. As for what is “up and coming” in math….Regular Math will continue on with multiplication and division of fractions and mixed numbers while Enriched will move into decimals.I’m also hoping to throw in some word problem work and “center” time!
I’m looking forward to a great week!
Holy Cow! February is here already! Whoo hooo!! I can’t wait to select this month’s All Stars! It’s sure to be a tough choice as everyone is really working hard since we have come back from break! Keep up the great work! Friday is a half day and we will have Homeroom, the 6th Grade Spelling Bee, Periods 3 & 4 and Connections….so we will not be using a regular class schedule.
In math all classes will be continuing their work with fractions. In Regular Math we will be working on adding and subtracting mixed numbers, with special focus on regrouping. In Enriched we will round out fraction and mixed number operations with division and work with fraction equations. All classes will have a quiz on Thursday.
I’m looking forward to a great week!

Holy cow we are already to the last full week of January! We are moving right along and it will be spring before we know it!
This week in math we will be continuing with fractions and mixed numbers in all of our classes. I’m excited to find out what you remember from 5th grade so we can move into multiplication and division and enjoy some fraction games on the computers and in class.
Yippee!
I’m looking forward to another great All Star week!
Finally…SNOW! Whoo hoo! Although I enjoyed the warm temperatures, I do enjoy a little bit of the white stuff! But boy did it get cold fast! You kids came in from recess on Wednesday sweating and Thursday we got out early and you were inside to stay warm!
Welcome to the midwest!
This week in math we will be continuing with fractions. For Regular Math, we will be doing work with adding and subtracting mixed numbers and the same in Enriched Math….but using negative fractions and mixed numbers also. On Tuesday, all classes will be taking an online assessment using our district’s new resource called Discovery Learning. We will be in the 7th grade computer lab with Mr. Monier’s class.
Enjoy your holiday on Monday!
Hey All Stars!
It was so great to see you at school last week! Call me crazy, but I did miss you guys over break! I’m looking forward to an awesome second semester. Remember, we have a clean slate for late or missing assignments so let’s make sure we keep ourselves (and our friends if they need a reminder) to stay on track so we all qualify for the quarter reward party! And…check your school supplies! If you are in need of a new binder or more pencils, please be sure to pick some up! We still have a lot of learning left and need our supplies to help us stay organized!
This week in math we will be working with mixed numbers and improper fractions and review what we learned in 5th grade regarding adding and subtracting fractions. Keep working on your multiplication facts! I hope to have the iPods ready for check out this week!
Whoo hoo! We made it to the last week of second quarter!

Wednesday- 1 Hour Early Out, Reward Party, Holiday Concert, no classes except for periods 3 and 4
In math this week we will be rounding out the semester with a study guide that covers every math concept we have learned so far this year. It will be a nice review so you can see how much great stuff you have learned!
