Whooo weee……we have a big week! The most important fact of all is that we are just 5 days away from Spring Break!! Yessssssssss!!!!

Monday- Classes will be adjusted in the morning because “Musher Doug” will be here to present to use about mushing and the Iditarod! It’s an awesome presentation and last year he brought a real dog!  I hope he does it again! :)

Friday- The time has come for our 3rd Quarter Reward Party! All students who qualify will be taking a trip to Central Theatre to watch “Aliens in the Attic.” You may bring $1 for popcorn and $1 for pop, but the movie is free!  Congrats to all qualifiers! That means you did not receive a referral this quarter and have 5 or fewer late or missing assignments!

Student Senate is sponsoring a FOOD DRIVE this week. Please bring non perishable food items to your homerooms.  The homeroom with the most items will win a donut and juice party!!

As far as math goes this week….

Regular Math- we will be continuing our work with fractions and mixed numbers

Enriched Math- we will be finishing our fraction test and starting proportions and ratios

Whooo-wheeee! ISAT’s are over! Great job to everyone!  This week in math we are going to get back into the swing of things with fractions in both classes! :)

Please consider donating supplies for Pi Day on March 15th!!  It’s a fun math day full of session concerning pi! :)   What? You don’t know what pi is??? Don’t worry! By the end of the day not only will you enjoy some tasty pie, but you will learn how to calculate the math version of pi as well! Each student needs to bring a light colored t-shirt that can be painted….other items accepted for donation are fudge striped cookies, Ritz crackers, peppermint patties, fabric paint markers and of course PIES!  We would like all supplies here by Thursday, March 11, but the pies can be brought in on Monday, March 15th!

Thursday is the Power Safety Assembly and the ISAT reward movie.  We will also dismiss at 2:15pm! :)

Friday there is No School for Teacher Inservice! :)

What a great job you all did on Friday with the BIOME projects! They were awesome! Great Job to Mrs. Wagner and all of our American League students on their projects and presentations! Super!

This week we will be continuing with prime factorization and GCF and adding in Least Common Multiple in Regular Math and working with fractions in Enriched Math….and of course reviewing some ISAT topics, too.  We will be doing some practice on the extended and short response, so plan on doing some writing in math this week! :) Oh, and don’t forget to bring your calculator!

Wednesday is a Connections day and a 1 hour early dismissal and there is a HOME basketball game this Monday! Come cheer on Miss Bush and the Maple Leafs to VICTORY over John Deere Middle School!!

Enriched Math- We will be moving into fractions next and will have a quiz on decimals Tuesday or Wednesday.

Regular Math- We will be moving on to fractions as well, but you already had your decimal test… :)

I am looking forward to a great week!  I know it is another full 5 day one, but at least you get Monday, February 15th off! :)   Also, I will try to hit both P.E. classes this week to dance with you….I’m sorry I have had some meetings and only able to make it to 4th period.  Don’t forget to collect money for Jump Rope for Heart!  And remember to pick Mr. Ferguson to throw the pies at…..not me!! :) Just kidding!! :)
