Our Star of the Week did a wonderful job reading his book to the class! The book he read was There is a Bird on Your Head! Everyone could tell that he had practiced reading his book at home. Thank you Star for a wonderful story!

We learned about nouns today. We practiced identifying words that are nouns by asking, “Is it a person? Is it a place? Is it a thing?”
In math we are working on subtraction. Today we learned how subtraction is related to addition. We are also learning about fact families.
Don’t forget, the posters are due on Friday.
During Guided Reading time what is your favorite literacy center?
Browse bags were sent home tonight for the first time. Some children do not have books in their bags yet. We are slowly getting into reading groups and some groups have met, while others have not. Hopefully all of the children will have books in their bags by the end of the week. Most of the books in your child’s browse bag will be from his/her reading group. It is important for your child to practice reading the books in his/her bag to improve fluency and expression.
